Misha Kaploukhii

Misha Kaploukhii is a graduate of the Moscow Gnessin College of Music, where he studied under Mikhail Egiazaryan. He recently completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music and is now pursuing a Master of Performance under the guidance of Professors Ian Jones and Leon McCawley.

Misha holds several prestigious awards, including the ABRSM Award and support from the Eileen Rowe Trust, Talent Unlimited Charity, The Keyboard Charitable Trust, The Razumovsky Trust, The Robert Turnbull Foundation, and the Drake Calleja Trust for 2023/24. His studies are generously supported by the Musicians’ Company Lambert Scholarship. He is also honoured to be one а recipient of the LSO Conservatoire Scholarship 2024/25, which offers professional development, coaching, and performance opportunities.
Recent prizes include the RCM Concerto Competition, the International Ettlingen Piano Competition, the Hopkinson Gold Medal at the Chappell Medal Competition, and both the First and Audience Prizes at the 2024 Sheepdrove Piano Competition.

Misha has drawn inspiration from lessons and masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Claudio Martínez Mehner, Dmitri Bashkirov, Jerome Lowenthal, Dinara Klinton, Konstantin Lifschitz, and Dame Imogen Cooper. He also participated in the 2024 Oxford Piano Festival, where he received coaching from Stephen Kovacevich, Barry Douglas, and Kathryn Stott.
His UK orchestral appearances include performances at Cadogan Hall, where he played Rachmaninoff’s First Concerto with the YMSO and James Blair, Liszt’s Second Concerto with the RCM Symphony Orchestra conducted by Adrian Partington, and most recently, Rachmaninoff’s Fourth Concerto with the Albion Orchestra.

Misha has performed in the UK, Italy, and France in notable venues including St Mary’s Perivale, Razumovsky Recital Hall, Leighton House, Sala dei Notari, and Giardini La Mortella. In 2023, he was invited to perform Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances at the Budleigh Literary Festival, accompanying Fiona Maddocks’ discussion of her book Rachmaninoff in Exile. Additionally, he gave recitals for the William Walton Foundation in Ischia and performed at the Perugia Music Festival with the Umbria Ensemble.

Misha’s upcoming engagements include solo recitals at the Razumovsky Recital Hall, St Mary Le Strand, 1901 Arts Club, the British Institute in Florence, and Steinway Hall in Milan. He is also set to perform Chopin’s F Minor Concerto at the National Liberal Club and Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto at Cadogan Hall with James Blair.
